The BioAnalytics Department in Sanofi Global CMC Development is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the Characterization group. The successful candidate will utilize advanced bioanalytical tools with a focus on mass spectrometry and chromatography-based techniques to characterize a variety of biotherapeutics at all stages of development to enable critical decision-making and ensure the successful development of new drugs.

Main Responsibilities
Identify sequence liabilities in therapeutic proteins to assist pre-candidate selection as part of developability assessments.
Perform detailed structural characterization including protein sequence confirmation, sequence variant identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis of post-translational modifications (e.g. glycosylation and disulfide bonds) in support of IND enabling studies, forced degradation and comparability studies.
Collaborate with group members and cross functional teams to conduct stress studies and support structure-function studies, process development, and formulation studies.
Evaluate and develop new technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of the characterization workflows and to solve problems encountered during drug development.
Author study protocols, technical reports, and manuscripts for publication; present at internal and external seminars and conferences.
About You
Basic Qualifications:
PhD in Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline, or a Master's degree in relevant discipline with > 4 years of relevant experience
Strong technical background and expertise in protein mass spectrometry including LC-MS intact protein analysis, peptide mapping, and PTM characterization
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as member of a team while adhering to timelines
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in analytical separation methods, biophysical characterization techniques, and high throughput automation platforms
Experience in scientific programing and scripting
Experience in glycoprotein and antibody characterization
