YOUR ROLE Scientists: Are responsible for the technical development of new products that meet the needs of the business, customers, and consumers.  Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Have an ability to identify and quickly understand unfamiliar chemistries and contextualize them in various formula types and end-use conditions.  Develop efficient technical solutions that meet product briefings.  Are responsible for laboratory work including the planning and execution of laboratory experiments and the measurement of product properties, stability, and performance. Act as technical project representatives on all R&D workstreams, from new product development to production strategies.  Are able to analyze, review and interpret data and propose next experimental steps.  Have strong time and project management skills, reporting progress/issues on a timely basis. Master Henkel’s Innovation Process and holds self and others accountable to deliver all necessary tasks on time and within process.  Work closely with Packaging, Process Development, Product Safety and Regulatory, Technical Performance Insights and other testing functions, and cross functional partners in Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Legal during the development and commercialization of products. Develop “demos” to support commercial launches and bring to life the benefits developed in new product innovations. Conduct regular reviews of composition, claims, and performance of competitive products.  Are responsible for maintaining master data on formulations and raw materials.  Ensure the laboratory is kept clean, orderly, and safe, and report any deficiencies to the appropriate Safety or Facilities personnel. Enjoy working in fluid environments that demand creativity.  Possess a high tolerance for VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity).  Work full time at a lab bench or a computer station. YOUR SKILLS Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.  Experience: 0 – 3 years relevant experience. Academic research experience or prior industrial internships preferred. Basic but strong statistical ability strongly preferred. Basic to intermediate data manipulation, especially using Excel functions.  Experience with statistical software like JMP or Minitab is preferred.  Basic familiarity with statistical design of experiments (DOE) preferred. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion.

The salary for this role is $70,000.00 - $ 80,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
