**Your Opportunity**
Stantec is seeking an entry level scientist, geologist, or environmental engineer to support our team of environmental professionals. The position will assist in the completion of project level work to support environmental investigation and remediation projects. Primary responsibilities will be related to performing key tasks to support field implementation of assessment plans.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform and document field data collection activities (including oversight of subcontractors)
+ Assist in the completion of project level work (data management, report preparation) on environmental remediation/management projects for commercial/industrial clients
+ Conduct multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, indoor air)
+ Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, manage subcontractors and minor soil excavation projects
+ Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams
+ Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned
+ Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data
+ Draft technical reports
+ Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures
+ Work will be conducted under the supervision of a project manager or a field team leader
+ Ability to travel, including long-term assignments, is required for the purpose of performing environmental investigations and remediation projects.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ **40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training**
+ Ability to pass drug test, background check, physical, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy
+ The ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff
+ Strong technical writing skills
+ A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
+ Working knowledge of field sampling techniques
+ Must be an advocate for company and client’s health and safety programs.
**Education and Experience**
+ A Bachelor’s degree in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
+ 0-1 years of environmental consulting industry experience
