Job Title: Scientist, SW Engineer (Network Eng) Job Code: 20773 Job Location: Melbourne, FL Schedule: 9/80 Job Overview: As a Software Engineer specializing in Network Engineering at L3Harris, you will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining software solutions that enhance network infrastructure. Your role will involve creating and implementing software that drives network systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: + Design and develop software applications for network configuration, automation, and management. + Collaborate with network engineers to understand system requirements and integrate software solutions with existing network infrastructure. + Implement network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing, and implementation of automated PACE plans. + Develop tools for network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics to improve network reliability and performance. + Participate in the deployment and configuration of network software and hardware. + Write and maintain scripts for network automation and orchestration. + Troubleshoot and resolve network-related software issues. + Ensure compliance with network security policies and best practices. + Document software design, development processes, and network configurations. + Keep up to date with emerging network technologies and software development practices. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. + Experience in software development with a focus on network engineering. + Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Go. + Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and orchestration platforms.
