Job Title: Scientist, Systems Engineering (System Architect) Job ID: 16903Job Location: Palm Bay, FL or Herndon, VA Job Description: As a member of the Emerging & Critical Technology team, the strategist plays an important role in synthesizing and communicating the segments emerging technology strategy, with a strong focus on supporting our emerging mission and technology roadmaps, capturing mission and technology gaps, assessing technology trends, systems and systems-of-systems thinking, and developing challenge statements is support of technology ideation initiatives. The Strategist will be an expert at conducting research, trend analysis and modeling to transform available data into meaningful, digestible reports and presentations for facilitating strategic decision making and conveying recommendations to executives. Must be skilled in analytical methods, producing fact-based, logical hypothesis and scenarios with well-thought-out conclusions. Essential Functions: + Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with key personnel from each segment strategy, business development, and chief engineers while efficiently communicating initiatives and segment needs + Manages development of presentation materials in support of projects including but not limited to: Emerging mission needs, technologies trends and radars, portfolio metrics, technology exchange forums, steering committees and others + Assists with the development and implementation of segment technology planning initiatives + Works effectively as a contributing team member of the Emerging & Critical Technology team + Plan and Manage Tech Summits, initiatives, and other activities/events lead by the segment (eWeek, Fellows Committee) + Create messaging and content in support of initiatives to facilitate communication and dispersion of information throughout the segment. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. + 5-7 year’s professional experience in a similar research, analysis, strategic business support role (e.g., planning, consulting, engineering management). + Experience in cost account management, project engineering, or program management. + Experience with MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, formatting, and graphic skills. + Experience technical writing and/or copy editing for engineering or related science fields. Preferred Additional Skills: + A fast learner with the ability to take initial direction and self-manage to complete assignments on time and to expectations Mission Engineering and/ or Systems Architecture experience + Large system development and integration experience + Defense industry customer engagement experience + Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously + Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills + Strong attention to detail L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
