Summary You will serve as a SCIENTIST (COMPUTER SCIENTIST) in the Gun Systems Integration Department (G), Conventional Ammunition Division (G2), In-Service Engineering Branch (G22) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. The ND-3 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-9 through GS-11. The ND-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-12/13 level. ND-3: $72,017-$113,268 ND-4: $104,436-$161,448 Responsibilities You will support the Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) in development, integration, test, and management of business intelligence tools or Naval Ordnance and General Equipment inventory. You will use advanced programming techniques, statistical algorithms, and business intelligence tools to provide meaningful information, in real time, to support data driven decisions. You will extract information by data mining from existing databases and coordinate initiatives by developing monthly and quarterly metrics. You will research, develop and program analytical tools that support various Naval ammunition portfolios. You will research and discuss ideas, issues, and solutions with other team members and/or supervisors. You will be able to execute programming assignments with little assistance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications ND-4: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 (GS-9/11 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional scientist, providing technical input on the design and development of software or computing systems (e.g. storing, manipulating, transforming) to identify and resolve challenges and discrepancies for the overall success of projects and organizations. ND-3: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-2 (GS-5/8 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional scientist, applying scientific concepts, practices, and techniques to assist with storage, manipulation, transformation and presenting information related to data analytics for the overall success of projects and organizations. OR Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
