Job Description

The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group at Gilead Sciences is seeking a candidate for the position of Scientist with the primary responsibility to providing bioanalytical support to biologics discovery and development project teams. A successful scientist will work closely with biologics discovery, toxicology, clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, and regulatory to optimize leads, to select candidates for clinical evaluation, and contribute to regulatory filings.

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Biologics Bioanalytical Scientist to provide essential pharmacokinetic and bioanalytical support for DMPK project teams in biologics discovery and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Method Optimization: Develop and implement bioanalytical methods for quantifying therapeutic drugs (e.g., antibodies, ADCs, fusion proteins) in biological matrices using LC-MS/MS.

Expertise in LC-MS: Demonstrate proven experience in LC-MS, particularly in quantitative peptide analysis, with a strong background in method development of LC-MS assays.

Data Analysis: Utilize proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Xcalibur, Analyst) to analyze, interpret, document, and summarize bioanalytical data.

Problem Solving: Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot LC-MS instrumentation and methodologies effectively.

Project Management: Maintain strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Collaborative Support: Provide critical laboratory support in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

Education: PhD in analytical chemistry, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology/toxicology, biochemistry, or a related field; or MS with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and technical communication skills, with the ability to interpret results, define next steps, and present findings to project teams and senior management.

Flexibility and Independence: Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Valued Experience: Hands-on experience with large molecule immunoassay techniques (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Gyros) is a plus.

Software Proficiency: Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism, SoftMax Pro, and Phoenix WinNonlin.

The salary range for this position is: $143,225.00 - $185,350.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
