Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Scientist I to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct routine chemical testing of finished products and stability samples using chromatographic test methods. This role involves performing validated test methods for pharmaceutical products, reporting out-of-specification results, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
ResponsibilitiesConduct routine chemical testing of finished products and stability samples using internally developed and compendial chromatographic test methods.Perform validated test methods for pharmaceutical finished products to assess strength, impurities, identity, and characteristics using HPLC and wet chemistry techniques.Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical and product problems efficiently.Perform daily instrument calibrations and verifications as required.Accurately document and communicate testing results and analyses.Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.Prepare test solutions, including diluents and mobile phases.Clean and maintain work area and instrumentation.Perform duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and safety guidelines.Maintain vital compliance status required by company and facility standards.Essential SkillsGood knowledge and understanding of basic instrumental technologies and qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses.Awareness of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.Strong problem-solving skills and logical approach to solving scientific problems.Ability to follow company policies, SOPs, cGMPs, work instructions, methods, and analyst guidelines.Demonstrates efficiency by multitasking and scheduling time to meet required workload.Takes initiative and independently pursues training and learning opportunities to improve personal skills.Proven interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as determining test reliability, analyzing variance, and using correlation techniques.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in physical science, preferably in Chemistry or Biology.1-2 years of experience performing chemical tests with chromatographic techniques.Working theoretical knowledge of HPLC and practical execution.Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.Work Environment
2nd Shift (2pm - 10pm) M-F with possible 6 hours of overtime. The role requires compliance with safety guidelines and maintenance of a clean work area and instrumentation.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
