FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Inc. is hiring a Scientist I. The Scientist I will conduct research and development activities leading to the commercial launch of recombinant protein products used in cell therapy, gene therapy, bioproduction, biotechnology and research applications.

Responsibilities 

Support cell culture experiments for cell biology research, product development, technical product support, and/or process improvements.Conduct a variety of fermentation protocols using shake flasks, and lab scale fermentation systems, under the supervision of lead scientists. Basic knowledge to run SDS-PAGE and quantitation of proteins.Support cell culture bioassay demands, maintain various cell culturesPrepare reagents, cell culture media for team experimentsSupport and become independent with various biological assaysOrder, receive, and maintain adequate inventory of supplies for team experiments. Support data acquisition and basic data analysis.Contribute to the preparation of data report summaries, formal reports and presentations.Support in the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment Support and lead in troubleshooting experimentsPresent and discuss job activities to internal teams and groups 

 

Required Skills/Education 

B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, or related scienceB.S. with minimum of 4 years relevant working experience, or M.S with minimum of 2 years of relevant experienceCell culture experience requiredKnowledge of Cell Culture, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and MicrobiologyKnowledge of E.coli proteins development and optimizationKnowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, pH meters, etc.)Knowledge of commonly used experimental/research concepts, practices, and proceduresGeneral knowledge of computer systems and productivity softwareAbility to speak, write and read English fluentlyGood oral and written communication skills
