TITLE:                                    Scientist II, Cell Biology

HOURS:                                  Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES:                                 Develop new applications for cell processing within the scope of cell therapy workflows using the Rotea cell processing system.

                                                Author protocols and experimental design and bring new cell types in-house.

                                                Develop culture, expansion, and characterization methods to scale up so cells can be processed using the Rotea system including natural killer cells, hematopoietic stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and T cells.

                                                Maintain detailed and organized notebook and experiment write-ups.

                                                Present data and findings to cross-functional teams of peers and managers.

                                                Travel: Up to 5% domestic and international travel required.

REQUIREMENTS:                  Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Biotechnology, Biology, Cell Biology, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in Immunology or Cell Biology or related experience. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Biotechnology, Biology, Cell Biology or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in Immunology or Cell Biology or related experience as an equivalent alternative.

                                                Required knowledge or experience with:

Isolate and maintain culture of multiple immune cells, stem cells, and cancer cell models;Optimize protocols for cell separation;Wash & concentration of various cell types using counterflow centrifugation instrumentation;Design of Experiment to analyze assay results;Functional assays using immune cells (T cells and NK cells);Cell culture and particulate imaging using microscopy;Statistical analysis using Graphpad Prism or JMP software; andqPCR.

Salary: $115,149 to $135,824 per year

The salary pay range estimated for this position Scientist III, Cell Biology based inCalifornia is $115,149.00–$135,824.00.
