Job Description

What will you do?            

You will:

Provide laboratory bench work in molecular biology laboratories (including a BSL2 lab) with focus on sample preparation and sequencing to support development of targeted sequencing assays.Assist in executing various R&D activities through different phases of product development in a fast-paced environment.Assist in performing experimental design, basic data analysis, interpretation, and data summarization to help guide assay development.  Work in close collaboration with cross functional teams and contribute as a team member to deliver high quality results and meet pre-defined goals.Maintain accurate and detailed lab notebooks and appropriate documentation based on the scientific method enabling other scientists to reproduce their experimentsDevelop a hypothesis and then design the necessary set of experiments to test the hypothesis with limited guidanceExercise independent judgment within generally defined procedures, laboratory methods and techniquesFollow regulatory compliance in ISO 9001 and 13485.

How will you get here?

Education

BS Degree, 3+ years/MS Degree, 1+ years of laboratory experience in either academic or industry setting. Industrial experience in product development is preferred. Experience in regulated background is a plus.Possess a clear understanding and have related experience in basic molecular biology techniques (including DNA, RNA and protein handling, PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid quantification methods).You should have a solid knowledge of the next-generation sequencing as demonstrated by your publication history or industry experience.Effective communication skills, especially for presenting scientific results, keeping records and working collaboratively in a team of scientists are necessary.Strong documentation and organizational skillsExperience with statistically-based plan development, power, test method development, data-driven decision-making, statistical analysis (JMP strongly preferred), DOE, and design-focused six sigma experience are highly desirableDirect experience with product development cycles and IVD regulations is a plus.
