Job Title: Scientist II Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist II with a strong background in Chemistry or related sciences. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in wet chemistry, HPLC, and at least three different dosage forms (such as Oral, Solid, Semi Solid, Liquid, Topical, Nasal, Suspension, Thermal, Inhalation, Injectable, etc.). Essential Functions • Perform chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished pharmaceutical products, including products on stability, using analytical techniques such as IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and chromatographic techniques. • Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to complex steps using chromatographic techniques. Maintain laboratory record documentation and report results in a timely manner. • Participate in method transfer activities within and between organizations. • Lead investigations of out-of-specification laboratory results, when required. • Perform physical analysis using complex techniques such as X-ray diffraction, DSC, and Malvern mastersizer. • Prepare and execute method transfer protocols, method verification/validation protocols as needed. Additional Responsibilities • Assist senior scientists in the laboratory as needed. • Ensure expired chemicals and reference standards are removed from the laboratory area. Perform calibration of dissolution apparatus, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, HPLC, and GC as assigned by the supervisor. • Standardize API for use as in-house reference standard. • Provide hands-on training on simple analytical techniques and laboratory instruments to newly hired laboratory technicians or Assistant Scientists. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in PISCATAWAY, New Jersey. Work Environment Candidates will work first shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and need to be flexible to come in on weekends and stay late if needed. The position is part of a QC team of 15-20 people in a very fast-paced generic pharmaceutical environment. The company provides a comprehensive training program covering almost every dosage form.
