HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its in vivo Pharmacology team. We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scientist to lead/support our in vivo pharmacology team for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of scientists within the in vivo pharmacology Department
• Develop animal models for the evaluation of various disease models
• Responsible for the evaluation of various drug treatments in rodents PK/PD, anti-infectious efficacy studies
• Schedule studies, review protocols, data and reports
• Establishes scientific standards and new initiatives
• Write and review SOPs
• Provides scientific leadership by proactively advising, sharing knowledge and expert opinions across functions
• Anticipates scientific barriers, and proactively develops strategies to ensure successful drug evaluation
• Applies his/her experience and expertise of preclinical development of new cancer drugs to guide study design
• Participates in drafting quotations
• Perform and be in charge of complex in vivo pharmacology experiments utilizing tumor models (syngeneic, xenograft tumor models and humanized mouse models) in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised mice; and other immunology related fields, in responsible for project execution, data update/presentation, and study report preparation
• Lead trouble-shooting and issue solving efforts to ensure successful delivery of client’s projects
• Develop, implement, optimize, and validate animal models in different disease areas
• Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external clients to promote a world-class service

Qualifications

• PhD with 2-3 years of post-doctoral training or working experience in the area of immuno-oncology or pharmaceutical related services
• Strong knowledge in tumor immunology, cellular immunology, autoimmunity and related field
• Interactive and collaborative approach; expert influence and conflict resolution skills are preferred
• Experience with in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies, e.g. sterile cell culture techniques, and rodent handling experience (animal dosing (IV, PO, IP, SC), tumor implantation, blood/tissue collection, etc.) in academic or industry laboratory environment
• Work experience in CRO or in a commercial setting is preferred
• Excellent oral and written commutation skills and presentation ability
• Must be detail-oriented, have strategic planning skills and capability to multi-task, ensuring that all tactical details are managed efficiently and effectively
• Demonstrated ability to guide groups through corporate change and growth
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork and driven environment

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
• Need to be able to read, write and understand English
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Expertise in animal research
• Ability to multitask across several research areas/projects
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent organization and record-keeping skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and other software/websites for primer design, sequencing analysis and data graphing
• High standards of scientific rigor and integrity
