Job Description

The Conjugation Scientist II will be an integral member of the 2nd Shift team, responsible for the production of fluorescent labeled bioconjugates. This position operates Monday to Friday from 1pm to 9:30pm.

ResponsibilitiesPerform hands-on manufacturing tasks and work in accordance with production schedules.Conjugation of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies.Perform accurate and aseptic lab techniques, good documentation practices, and good manufacturing practices.Use general lab equipment (centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pipettes, etc.).Perform ion exchange chromatography, buffer and reagent preparation, FPLC (AKTA), HPLC, plate reader, etc.Assist in the transfer of new products, processes, and protocols from R&D to Manufacturing.Ensure proper training is given to respective individuals and confirm that protocols are clear and accurate.Initiate and own Problem Reports for planned and unplanned deviations and failures.Accurately document and complete all manufacturing batch records independently.Open change orders to create and revise documentation related to the department.Navigate laboratory database systems independently.Follow verbal and written instructions.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Follow all departmental SOPs, guidelines, and procedures.Identify and report issues timely and effectively.Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite products with emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and Word.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in a biological science.2+ years’ experience in the application of cellular or microbiology laboratory techniques in a manufacturing environment or R&D laboratory (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Strong knowledge and experience with size exclusion chromatography and FPLCs.Strong understanding of GLP and GMP processes and documentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with AKTA machines.Excellent communication skills (written and oral).Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.Highly motivated and dedicated individual.Well-organized and meticulous.Strong social skills and the ability to multitask.Work Environment

This role is within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring adaptability and flexibility. You will work with various lab equipment including centrifuges, spectrophotometers, pipettes, FPLC (AKTA), HPLC, and plate readers. The position requires a strong emphasis on maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all departmental SOPs, guidelines, and procedures. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday from 1pm to 9:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
