**Description** The Department of Translational Medicine & Clinical Pharmacology (TMCP) - Oncology Translational Science(OTS) is seeking a highly motivated Scientist III to join the Molecular Pathology Laboratory located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The Molecular Pathology Laboratory develops and applies methods for tissue-based molecular characterization, including immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH), and immunofluorescence (IF). The Scientist III will contribute to the identification of novel biomarkers and the characterization of the mode of action of immuno-oncology therapies using their technical expertise. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Perform digital pathology analysis (Halo and/or InForm) 50% or greater as project need arises. + Performs assigned histology procedures efficiently and without supervision to support OTS studies (including trimming, post-fixed organ weighing, embedding, microtomy, cryotomy, routine staining, coverslipping, labelling of prepared slides etc.), and completing all study activities on time. + Demonstrates mastery of specialized technical, scientific and/or administrative skills specific to histotechnology; independently proposes and implements new technologies and/or process improvements. + Demonstrates mastery of study histologist role by assuming responsibility for studies of higher size or complexity without supervision, including acquiring proficiency in and/or providing training and technical guidance to team members on any needed specialized techniques. + Documents all work activities and maintains all assigned study records using current forms and procedures, making all entries legibly, correctly and contemporaneously in a timely fashion. + Demonstrates mastery of study histologist role by assuming responsibility for studies of higher size or complexity without supervision, including acquiring proficiency in and/or providing training and technical guidance to team members on any needed specialized techniques. + Capable of identifying problems that may affect test performance or reporting of test results and resolve or immediately report to lab manager. + Capable of reporting results and presenting data. + Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. + Ensure compliance with all local, federal regulations. Maintain a clean and well organized work area. + Other duties, including administration assistance, lab instrument routine maintenance, ordering laboratory consumables to ensure continuous supplies. **Requirements** + Master´s Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline, OR Bachelor´s Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field + HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred, or certification pending. + Demonstrates expertise in digital pathology analysis and knowledge of IHC testing. + Histology experience required. + Qualification in Immunohistochemistry (QIHC) obtained through ASCP is preferred. + Ability to operate laboratory equipment with independence is required. • Ability to draft technical reports and work independently is required. + Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. + Proven problem-solving ability. • Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations. **Compensation:**  This position, Scientist III, offers a base salary typically between $90,000.00 and $147,000.00.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
