Job Title: Scientist III
Location: Ridgefield, CT
Type: Contract
 
Responsibilities Perform a variety of functional genomics assays, including CRISPR screening, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq on tissues, cells, or nuclei suspensions Operate and maintain advanced lab equipment (e.g., NovaSeq X+); troubleshoot and solve scientific and technical challenges independently and efficiently Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure equipment readiness for routine and walk-up use Collaborate with TA scientists to design experiments and interpret data, contributing to decision-making in cross-functional teams Author protocols, procedures, and technical reports with minimal supervision Provide training on functional genomics assays and sequencing technologies to TA scientists Participate in FGSL workflows, including meetings, to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data integrity  
Requirements In-depth understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and functional genomics, with demonstrated expertise in molecular biology methods. Proven experience in developing and optimizing in vitro cell-based assays, PCR-based assays, or similar workflows. Proficiency in cell culture and familiarity with single-cell techniques and CRISPR assays. Ability to independently operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Experience with laboratory automation and software programming is a plus. Strong ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to train and mentor colleagues.
Education:         Master’s degree from an accredited institution with 5+ years of experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline.
