**Job Title: Screening Technician** **Job Description** SHIFT: * Monday-Friday 10AM-6:30PM + mandatory overtime on Mondays and Tuesdays (1-2 hours of overtime on Mon & Tues and 1 hour rest of the week) * $18/hr. for all shifts, pay is firm CONTRACT TERMS: This is a temporary assignment to cover a maternity leave. A minimum commitment of 3-6 months is required. There is a possibility for this position to go long-term, depending on headcount need and performance. This role is with one of the top and most innovative Life Sciences & Health Care companies in the world, with expertise in nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, and pharmaceutical therapies. The Santa Rosa site provides drug testing analysis for government agencies. The Screening Technician role is in a lab setting. Screening Technicians help aliquot (pour) urine samples into test tubes in preparation for analysis. The clients are primarily government agencies, and the test results can have major impacts on people's lives, so attention to detail is key. The Screening Tech will review information on the bottles to ensure accuracy, then aliquot the samples into test tubes. The job is repetitive, processing up to 25,000 samples/day. Some days may involve helping out in the accessioning department, which receives samples into the lab and does data entry. Cross-training in both departments is possible. The screening technician will check that information on specimen bottles is correct, open the bottles, and pour them into test tubes. They load 10 test tubes onto a tray, which is then passed to instrument operators for analysis. There is an opportunity for growth to learn instrument operation for specimen analysis, but basics of screening must be learned first. **Hard Skills** + Entry-level job + Comfortable handling urine samples + Comfortable with repetitive tasks + Carefully pour urine into test tubes + Physical proof of High School Diploma or GED **Soft Skills** + Attention to detail + Ability to work mandatory overtime **Job Type** This is a contract position with a duration of 18 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Larkfield, California. **Work Environment** The work environment is in a large, open laboratory. Screening Technicians wear scrubs provided by the company (three sets upon employment), latex gloves, and goggles.
