Job Title: Screw Machine Operator
Job Description

We are seeking 6 skilled Screw Machine Operators to join our team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining ACME and Davenport manual screw machines to produce high-quality parts. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

ResponsibilitiesSetup and operate automatic screw machinery to produce parts according to specifications.Install and adjust cams, gears, and stops on the screw machine and verify the positioning of cutting tools using gauges or other instruments.Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure accurate production.Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.Stock and load machinery, maintaining proper oil levels, cutting fluids, or lube, and keeping machinery free of chip buildup.Monitor production process to identify and resolve any issues or defects.Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.Conduct in-process, first piece, and final inspections.Essential SkillsExperience working in a manufacturing environment in any role.Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Experience with quality testing using manual tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with screw machines, particularly ACME and Davenport.Preventative maintenance experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Experience with a Roller Header machine.Auto mechanics experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is very loud, and candidates will be provided with ear muffs, uniforms, and safety glasses. The plant is dirty, oily, and has a distinct smell. It can get hot during the summer, but there is heating in the winter. Safety is a top priority, and proper safety measures are in place to ensure a secure working environment. The shift hours are from 5 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday, with opportunities for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a Contract position based out of Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00
