Job Description:
The Scrum Master is the person who is dedicated to helping teams execute as efficiently as possible. The Scrum Master will be working with the Product Owners and Team-Leads to ensure that Agile ceremonies are scheduled and productive, and that team impediments are either removed or escalated. Additionally, the Scrum Master will be identifying opportunities for process improvements and working with the team to figure out how to implement those changes.
Traditionally, the Scrum Master is responsible for the following:
Guiding the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time.Guiding the team to reach consensus during the daily scrum.Guiding the team to stay focused and follow the agreed-upon rules for daily scrums.Removing obstacles that are impeding the team's progress.Collecting feedback from the team during retrospectives and acting on that feedback.Protecting the team from outside distractions.Representing the team to external entities - Engineering management, PDM, others not directly on the team.Work with Project Manager to conduct long-term planningResponsibilities:
Coordinate with Product Owners to groom user stories and build tasks for a product backlog.Conduct Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Sprint Demos for your projects.Escalate issues and impacts to delivery timelines and work proactively with teams to support them in the execution of programs & projects.Identify current and potential issues with the SDLC and its impact on the efficiency of your teams.At the end of each sprint, present information about team metrics and goals achieved or missed using available tools.Use metrics to identify areas of improvements and suggest solutions when necessary.Work with the Project Manager to conduct long-term planning.Requirements:
3-5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Project Manager or another role wherein you were responsible for helping development teams deliver features.Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be facilitating important discussions, communicating process details and changes, motivating the team, and delivering information about a team’s metrics.Some technical background to better understand the stories you will be helping to groom and deliver.Hands-on experience with JIRA.Skills
