Responsibilities About The Role: The Scrum Master III is a servant leader and expert in agility focused on team improvement, can support scaling as required, and support the shift from project to product based delivery.As a trusted advisor, this role applies an in-depth knowledge of GM Financial organizational structure, inter-departmental relationships, and agile principles to help teams and organizations align strategic objectives to accelerate value delivery. Guiding and coaching the Scrum Teams and organization on how to apply agile values and principles, and use the Scrum Framework to delight customers Assessing the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity Protect the team from outside influences and remove impediments Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining (aka grooming) and managing the product backlog Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure product backlog is visible and prioritized towards business value Facilitating various Scrum and/or Kanban activities such as: Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives Empowering the team to be self-organized Qualifications Education and Experience: 4-6 years leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master required Must exhibit expert knowledge of agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban Professional Scrum Master and advanced certification and at least 5 years of agile experience Prefer proficient in the use of Agile delivery tools such as TFS, Jira and Azure DevOps Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills at the team and management levels Ability to teach and train on Agile, Scrum, Kanban at a level accessible to beginners with the ability to deep dive for advanced topics A change agent; progressively challenging the team and organization to continuously improve Excellent understanding of product and sprint backlog tracking, burn down metrics, and velocity Strong negotiation, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills High maturity of diplomacy and ability to see and rationalize multiple points of view Servant leader who Supports the development team, the product owner, and the organization High Emotional Intelligence (self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills) Licenses Scrum Master Certification CSM, PSM I, PMI-ACP required Advanced Scrum Master Certification: PSM II (Scrumorg) or A-CSM (Scrum Alliance) preferred PSM III, CSP-SM strongly preferred What We Offer: Generous benefits package available on day one to include: 401K matching, bonding leave for new parents (12 weeks, 100% paid), tuition assistance, training, GM employee auto discount, community service pay and nine company holidays.
