POSITION OVERVIEW

uShip is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a full time Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). This individual will be a part of the uShip Engineering team, which is charged with helping to build and grow the uShip site and marketplace for mobile and web.

This position will work as the QA representative in an agile environment with a cohesive and experienced team, with the opportunity to greatly influence the direction of the uShip web and mobile experience. RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with an Agile delivery team (Product manager, Designers, Software Engineers, Scrum Master & other QA) in a collaborative environment.Tests complex API, web and mobile based applications that reference database back-end systems.Creates and maintains automated test cases, executes test suites, reviews and diagnoses reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to release.Designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback.Works with the respective delivery team to derive QA requirements and risk to ensure clear Definitions of Done and enable the entire team to testOrganize, write, and share detailed test cases and test plans using TestRailDocument, verify,  and prioritize defects and bugs using Jira, and work with the team to resolve them.Manual testing across supported devices/OS as neededParticipates in the performance testing and analysis framework for a web services architecture containing ESB, BPM, and associated back-end applications.Represents team leadership and provides technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced QA personnel.Participates and owns initiatives inside of the QA Chapter - functional group composed of QA Engineers and SDETs focused on cross cutting QA concerns, patterns, and practices. 

REQUIREMENTS

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a passion for testingCross browser testing experience on PC, Mac, various mobile platforms and emulatorsExperienced in working as an embedded QA within an Agile Scrum or Kanban teamAble to create, run, and monitor automated tests for UI using tools like Selenium Able to create, run, and monitor API tests written in both Javascript and C#Experienced in writing clean, valid code in modern standards and libraries (Javascript/Typescript, C#)Proficient in Postman and API documentationProficient in code version control practices and tooling such as Github.Experienced in continuous integration & continuous deployment environmentsProficiency in SQL and experienced with relational databasesStrong test plan and test case creation skillsGreat communication - written and verbalExpertise on efficient and effective  manual or automated testing on mobile web or native mobile apps on iOS &  Android

Experienced in working as an embedded QA within an Agile Scrum or Kanban teamSEO Testing experience reviewing impacting on-page elementsExperience with automated SEO Testing Tools is a plusExperience with visual testing libraries such as PixelmatchClear understanding of Core Web Vitals and monitoring impactful changes to metricsExperience with  accessibility and demonstrative knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standardsExperience working on projects in a customizable WordPress environment is a plusWorked in AWS or cloud based infrastructure is a plusExperience with Cloudflare and Github Actions

Location:  Austin, TX, hybrid work environment (78701)

Salary Range:  $120K+ base salary (est. $140k+ total comp w/bonus, insurance, 401k matching, etc.)
