Serco-NA is seeking a Submarine Test and Evaluation Project Leader to the COLUMBIA Class program office in the Washington, DC area. This program office is responsible for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation and Live Fire Test and Evaluation of the COLUMBIA Class submarine for the period from sea trials to PSA. The COLUMBIA program is the Navy’s top acquisition priority.
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for the Team Submarine contract supporting submarine acquisition. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization to eliminate traditional stovepipe structures and processes which create impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various program offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.
In this role, you will:
Plan and coordinate test & evaluation events for COLUMBIA Class submarines.Provide expert-level guidance to various teams regarding program management processes, coordinating schedules between project teams, supporting cost assessments, identifying/managing risk, and developing post-delivery operational plans.Use standard Microsoft Office tools to create briefs, write letters, or build spreadsheets to communicate necessary points, promulgate decisions, or analyze and present data.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance.Bachelor's degree in any technical or managerial discipline and 8-10 years of operational submarine experience.Ability to travel (15%).Detailed knowledge of submarine operating procedures (OPs), operating instruction (OIs), and casualty procedures (CPs) to support and develop COLUMBIA Class logistical technical documentation (LTD) products.Submarine department head experience is required.
In-Office Presence
Living in the DMV area is not required, however, a minimum of 3-day in-office presence each week at the Washington Navy Yard is required.Remote telework for the remaining two days each week is acceptable.
Preferred Experience:
Submarine operational experience within the last five years.Submarine executive officer experience is desirable, but not required.Submarine squadron deputy experience is beneficial, but not required.In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $129,622 to $216,035.91; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
