Seasonal Gasoline Roller Engineer

Job Description
Under general supervision, operates a gasoline or diesel-powered roller and automatic paving machine in connection with the laying of sheet asphalt and macadam walks and roads; performs related work. Operates all types of milling machines to remove old asphalt layer in preparation for repaving, secure gasoline and diesel-powered rollers for night layover, maintains, inspects and make emergency and minor repairs to such rollers. Operate other heavy equipment for snow removal or other immediate purpose of an emergency nature. Keep records and makes reports concerning equipment and production. This is a nine-month seasonal position starting in March and ending in December of each year.

Hours: 40 Hours per Week (Seasonal)

Qualifications
1. Three years of full-time satisfactory experience operating a diesel powered roller and/or an automatic asphalt paving machine and/or an asphalt milling machine and/or an asphalt recycling plant; or
2. At least two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in ""1"" above plus sufficient relevant education or training acquired in an approved trade school to make up the equivalent of three years of acceptable experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of relevant education.
License Requirement
Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License, without restrictions, valid in the State of New York. There may be certain age requirements to obtain this license. Employees must maintain the Class B Commercial Driver License during their employment."
