Job Title: Seasonal R&D Assistant

Job Description

As a Seasonal R&D Assistant, you will monitor seed workflows and automation to prepare for the field trial planting season. You will prepare soybean, corn, and wheat samples harvested across North America for compositional analysis and support the automation manufacturing process by monitoring. Additionally, you will manage inventory, perform safety inspections, and assist in various projects while ensuring continuous improvement in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

ResponsibilitiesMonitor seed workflows and automation to prepare for the field trial planting season.Prepare soybean, corn, and wheat samples for compositional analysis.Set up and make adjustments to regulate factors such as temperatures, pressure, flow, and material reactions.Support the automation manufacturing process through monitoring.Manage inventory.Perform safety inspections and submit hazard recognitions and safety suggestions.Work with engineering and operations teams for continuous improvement.Assist in other projects and perform various duties as needed.Operate and control units manually on control systems.Run and shut down production facilities and handle product changeover activities.Decontaminate equipment.Conduct routine analytics and take samples.Document and communicate work results.Support troubleshooting of process deviations in cooperation with the shift supervisor.Handle fast-paced and high-throughput samples.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree in agriculture, supply chain production is preferred.Work Environment

This role is based in a highly automated facility with three available shifts. This is a seasonal position ramping up from January to the end of May/early June. Employees receive one paid holiday and PTO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
