Piler Operator
The piler operator is responsible for operating the piler in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company guidelines. Duties and areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Operate piler controls
o Dump trucks efficiently
o Keep piler centered on the piling strip
o Assist personnel and foreman in machine maintenance and repair
o Perform regular piler inspections and report suspected defects to the foreman, Harvest Supervisor, or Agriculturalist
o Notify your Agriculturalist if loads are not suitable for storage.
Required skills:
o General mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, sprockets, belts, bearings, chains, and electrical systems
o Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain maximum performance on piler
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol; employee must sound the alarm before starting the piler and needs to know the whereabouts of the crew to ensure their safety
o Ability to use a shovel, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds

Dirt Scale Operator
The dirt scale operator obtains tickets from the drivers and accurately records the dirt weight on the ticket and delivers the ticket back to the driver. Duties and areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
o Record pile number on each ticket
o Record dirt weight on ticket
o Run dirt conveyor after each load and after cleaning the hopper. Zero scale between loads only when there are no beets flowing across the screen
o Assist in the operation of the boom
Required skills:
o Ability to handle multiple tasks
o Ability to write clearly and document numbers accurately
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol
o Ability to use a shovel, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds


Tare Person
The tare person takes a sample from the load when required. Duties and areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Obtain ticket stating if tare sample is required
o Take sample weighing between 20-26 pounds from the center of the required load
o Stack sample bags in an orderly fashion on the trailer
o Keep the sample area clean and free of scattered beets
o Report any piler malfunctions to the Piler Operator, Foreman, Harvest Supervisor or Agriculturalist
o Never allow mud to build up on dirt belt head and tail pulleys
o Check the dirt conveyor belts to ensure belt is centered on head and tail pulleys
Required skills:
o Ability to lift 20-26 pounds throughout a 12 hour shift
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol; employee must never allow mud to build up on dirt belt head and tail pullets; employee must check the dirt conveyor belts to ensure belt is centered on head and tail pulleys
o Ability to handle multiple tasks
o Ability to use a shovel, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds


Boom Operator
The Boom Operator is responsible for the operation of the boom. Duties and area of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
o Maintain stacker height according to the Agriculturalist’s instructions
o Move the stacker left and right for proper pile fill
o Obtain samples
Required skills:
o Ability to lift 20-26 pounds throughout a 12 hour shift
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol; employee must never allow mud to build up on dirt belt head and tail pulleys; employee must notify the Piler Operator of an upcoming piler move. If the piler is not moved timely, the stacker will plug
o Ability to use a shovel, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds


Oiler
The Oiler is responsible for the proper and adequate lubrication of the piler. Duties and area of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
o Grease piler as needed
o Oil piler chains as needed
o Assist with piler maintenance and repairs
Required skills:
o General mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, sprockets, belts, bearings, chains, and electrical systems
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol
o Ability to use a shovel, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds

Scale House Operator
The Scale House Operator operates scale equipment to record various shareholder information, weighs trucks, prints tickets, obtains and files necessary information including tickets, truck registrations, temperature logs, and daily reports.
Required skills:
o Ability to communicate with shareholders and employees relating to receiving station operation
o Ability to handle multiple tasks
o Ability to adhere to all safety and housekeeping protocol
o Must have great attention to detail
