As our Second Press Operator, you’ll be working alongside the First Press Operator, bringing each print job to life and ensuring every sheet is perfectly produced. What You’ll Be Doing:


Prep for Success: Review job tickets carefully to learn all the specifics—paper type, ink color, and any special instructions—so every job starts off on the right foot.Material Master: Gather stock and ink, ensuring everything is accounted for and ready to go. Double-check ink colors and paper type for every job.Make-Ready Magic: Set up waste sets for make-ready pulls and prepare the press feeder, guides, and detectors for a smooth start.Precision Positioning: Position images accurately on sheets, register colors, and verify alignment, folds, cuts, and more, guaranteeing each print is picture-perfect.Quality Assurance: Team up with the First Press Operator to monitor each printed sheet, ensuring it meets our high-quality standards.Smooth Operator: Keep ink fountains filled, monitor the fountain solution’s PH and conductivity, and make sure the press never runs low on ink or chemicals.Wash-Up Whiz: During changeovers or end-of-shift, clean the press from top to bottom, preparing everything for the next job.Safety & Maintenance: Follow all safety protocols, handle hazardous materials responsibly, and perform minor maintenance like cleaning, lubricating, and replacing small parts.


What You’ll Bring to the Team:

High School Diploma or GED: The starting point for this role.Strong Eye for Color: Accurate color perception is a must, and you’ll need to pass color vision and hue tests.Press Experience: Ideally, 1-2 years of experience as a Feeder or Floor Helper, with some exposure to sheet-fed presses.Tech-Savvy with Color: Experience with color scanning equipment and working with plastic substrates.Basic Math & Measurement Skills: Comfortable with rulers, measurement tools, and basic math operations.Printing Equipment Skills: Familiarity with densitometers, spectrophotometers, gloss meters, and PH/conductivity meters.UV Materials Experience: Comfortable working with UV materials and skilled at registering multi-color work and spot coatings.
