In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Medical Staff Recruitment, the Recruiter, Medical Staff ensures the efficient and effective functioning of medical staff recruitment activities to meet the Island Health Medical Staff Resource Plan. This position communicates directly with the Director, Medical Staff Support, Corporate Director, Medical and Academic Affairs, and Executive Medical Directors, and works collaboratively with Department Heads, Division Heads and Medical Directors and Directors for the respective programs, and Chiefs of Staff / Site Administrators, to support the recruitment of medical staff to the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a relevant baccalaureate degree in business administration, human resources or marketing and five (5) years related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience with medical staff and international recruitment an asset.

Skills And Abilities Sound knowledge of medical staff recruitment activities and best practice within Island Health and throughout the province. Knowledge of the Medical Staff Resource Plan and applicable policies and procedures. Demonstrated marketing ability, including through social media Possess a customer-focused approach and the ability to develop effective relationships with candidates, physician leaders, administrator, as well as external stakeholders. Enjoy working independently and as a collaborative team member Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and oral communication. Demonstrable professionalism, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. Ability to drive results in a positive and professional manner in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Demonstrated experience in interviewing and using selection tools. Utilize problem-solving and root-cause analytical skills. Experience in research and analyzing data Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
