Reporting to the supervisor, and under the general supervision of a radiologist, the MI Generalist Sonographer performs general ultrasound examinations. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to radiologist.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma program.
Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification credentials as a Generalist Sonographer and one (1) year recent, related experience in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada.

Additional information for applicants This position is Sunday 0800 to 1600 as well as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1600 to 2200. Relocation of $3000 for new Island Health hires within BC and $5000 for out of province. Signing bonus of $20000 per 1.0 FTE can be offered to external candidates.
