Secret cleared Vulnerability Engineer
Job Description An employer is looking for a HYBRID Secret Vulnerability Engineer in the D.C. area. This person will work closely with technical leads, infrastructure and operations teams and other cross-department teams. Evaluate business needs and provide end-to-end technical problem solving. Manage, operate, monitor and audit server assets. They will also provide support in remediating vulnerabilities across an infrastructure consisting of Windows servers. Analyze reports from multiple streams and sources. Responsible for both engineering, operations and hands-on technical support. Perform security hardening, patching and server certificate updates. Run system scans and analyze reports on system vulnerabilities on windows servers. Maintain and update environmental documentation, SOP, and engineering documentation. Escalate risk, issues and concerns as needed. Resolve know exploited vulnerabilities and prioritize critical needs. Harden Windows OS with secure versions of Transport Layer Security (TLS) and cipher suites according to NIST policy. Assist in developing POAMs for vulnerabilities requiring long-lead time resolve. Demonstrat3e knowledge of vulnerability management tools such as Tenable Nessus and BigFix. Utilize knowledge of CIS Benchmark guidelines for Microsoft Windows servers. Install hardware drivers, firmware, bios, and other hardware upgrades for Dell servers. Skills and Requirements - Active secret clearance - Bachelors degree in IT or related field - One of the following certifications: M365, VCP, CCNP, LPIC or Linux- 7+ years of experience administrating and managing servers and systems, cloud infrastructure, file and print environments - Emphasized experience on Windows operating systems - Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory and SQL Server - Expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills to resolve failed update installation in Windows OS - Technical knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy and applying security posture via GPOs - Knowledge of SCCM, NIST-800, DISA STIGS - Understanding of FIPS 140-3 or cryptographic modules and how theyre used - Scripting tools: PowerShell, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, Python or VBScript - Experience utilizing Nessus Tenables scanning tools and reporting - Top secret clearance - Certifications: Security+, CISSP, CASP+, CISA, CISM - Experience with Linux, Ansible or Unix null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
