Job Description Insight Global is seeking a qualified Lead Computer Hardware Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Virginia Beach, VA. This candidate will be responsible for the testing and design of computer hardware components to assist with the creation of a homegrown computer software system for the US Navy. Their day-to-day includes but is not limited to:  Design and test various computer hardware systems.  Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.  Research and identify hardware systems that meet the needs of the current homegrown system for optimal performance.  Conduct research and analysis, providing recommendations for improvement, design, and integration.  Design electronic circuits, components, and integrated systems, utilizing properties such as ferroelectric, nonlinear, dielectric, photo-conductive, and thermoelectric.  Independently design test control apparatus and equipment, establish testing procedures, and guide engineering personnel in the fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment.  Oversee field operations and maintenance of electronic installations.  Evaluate operational systems and recommend design modifications to address malfunctions or changes in system requirements.  Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
