Types, composes correspondence, transcribes, files, takes telephone and verbal messages, greets visitors, and makes appointments. Responsibilities PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)


Answers third party payors phone calls in utilization review, and all calls for the Social Service Department.
Screens telephone calls in a manner which presents a positive image in the corporation and routes them to the appropriate individuals.
Arranges meetings, conferences, and schedules interviews and appointments as required by the service area.
Compiles statistics for department reports as requested and maintains and updates the departmental database as needed.
Performs a wide variety of typing assignments which are expected to be error free and completed in the requested time frame.
Provides photocopying, faxing, and filing of all reports in an organized and timely manner.
Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner, greets visitors and patients promptly.
Provides necessary information and/or direction, and assures customer satisfaction.
Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Microsoft Access is not required but preferred. Knowledge of GroupWise calendar and scheduling software. Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates principles of service excellence and responds positively to the needs of patients and family. Excellent service recovery when system/process failures do occur. Ability to type at least 65 w.p.m. Ability to act with little supervision and must be a self-starter who is alert, motivated and able to respond to all customer needs. Ability to function as a team member to accomplish tasks. Possess the ability to effectively work with employees at all levels and with external parties in a tactful, diplomatic manner. High level of verbal skills required to prepare reports, take notes at meetings and compose letters.
EDUCATION
High degree of public and internal contact with excellent people skills. Acts in a manner that is comforting, and understanding of others feelings. High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required 2 Secretarial Required
