Responsibilities The incumbent of the position serves as the District Secretary and is a direct report to the District Manage Provides administrative support to the District Leadership Team for travel coordination, credit card processing, and personnel actions that require District Manager approval Plans and coordinates the District Leadership Team meeting and serves as the recorder for meeting minutes Tracks position vacancies, coordinates vacancy announcements with HR, coordinates hiring panels and selections with hiring managers, assists with employee onboarding. Processes awards, correspondence, timekeeper role for district staff, and coordinates VIP visits to district. FOR GS-06: To qualify you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Ability to operate a computer running a Windows Operating System FOR GS-07: To qualify you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience in planning, scheduling, coordinating meetings in a physical and virtual environment Experience in assisting Human Resources in staffing, pay, awards, and employee relations. Experience conducting travel arrangements (i.e. airline reservations, lodging, travel cost reimbursements) As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. There is occasional carrying of light objects such as files, books, and paperwork. There are no special physical requirements required. Work Environment: The work is performed in an office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and air conditioned.
