The primary purpose of this position SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) NK-0318-02 is to serve as the Executive Assistant in the planning and execution of the daily operations for the Commander, 75th Mission Support Group. Responsibilities Prepare a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring personal and executive correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources. Review and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Commander's signature, Receive telephone calls, greet visitors and ascertain the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help. Maintain supervisor's calendar, coordinate meeting arrangements, and schedule meetings and/or conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office. Perform other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as: Assist with composing non-technical correspondence, such as office procedures, requests for information concerning the organization's programs, letters of acknowledgment, commendation, or notification; receive and screen all publications, regulations, and directives directed to the Commander and brings to the Commander's attention those elements affecting the Commander's area of jurisdiction; specifically indicating procedural changes and furnishing all related materials; update and maintain office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office; ability to develop methods and procedures for office automation tasks, and assist with identifying and solving problems in existing methods or procedures. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Applicant must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school education and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence. Knowledge of office functions and commitments of supervisor and staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain supervisor's calendar, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, database, and graphs. Applicants must have skills as a qualified typist, a minimum of 40 WPM proficiency. Applicant must upload an authorized proficiency certificate or self-certify proficiency in the assessment tool. Additional Information Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley. This is an acquisition demonstration project position NK-02 equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-07.
