Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a detail-oriented Receptionist for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Williamsbridge area of the Bronx. The Secretary is responsible for directing calls, timekeeping, tracking financial transactions, maintaining records, and carrying out compliance protocols. Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Greet the clients in Family Services Redirect calls to Family Services staffCreate passes and residency letters for the clientsUpload the inspection forms in CARES in timely mattersFile documentation in the clients’ recordsGuide the ineligible status clients to get reinstated in CARES Assist the Director of Family Services with the department daily operations.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Satisfactory combination of experience and education. (Student. Associate…)Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications preferredAbility to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks with strong organization and time management skills Excellent communication skills Bilingual is a plus
