**Position Description:**
Coordinates a section in a department that has institutional oversight responsibilities. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program or departmental project as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
+ Handles clerical tasks for Operations safety reporting, guides employees on documentation procedures, and delivers regular safety reports and injury statistics to leadership.
+ Coordinates and oversees safety training and related activities to educate staff, ensures all required certifications are up-to-date, and maintains the hazard report database to facilitate adequate corrective actions, thereby promoting a safer work environment.
+ Manage the procurement and distribution of safety equipment while keeping informed about relevant institutional policies, regulations, and TTU Environmental Health & Safety requirements, and collaborate with the Operations Senior Safety Officer and leadership to enhance safety procedures based on reporting data.
+ Maintains and updates Operations Emergency Action Plan documents while collaborating with Emergency Management, EH&S, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with University expectations.
+ Maintain and organize asbestos-related documentation while assisting in the preparation of Asbestos Survey Reports.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Proficient with computer programs, such as Microsoft and Adobe products.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of customers, staff, and vendors.
+ Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
+ Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Asbestos Inspector License preferred but not required (can be obtained during employment).
