Short Description:

The AOC IT Security Analyst is responsible for providing a secure network environment for the Arkansas Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Administrative Office of the Courts, and other entities within the Judicial Branch.

15-20% Travel. State vehicle available for most travel.

 

Responsibilities include system security planning, development, and implementation of security policies across multiple platforms, monitoring and compliance of IT Security Policies, and the management and support of network and security services.  The Security Analyst is also responsible for the design of security policy education, training, and auditing.

 

A Bachelors degree in Computer or Information Science or other related field, or four years of experience in security administration is required.  Information security certification and/or Cisco certification is required.  Knowledge of Arkansas court systems and understanding of the use of technology in court applications is desirable.  Must have strong computer and communication skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and respect for deadlines.

 

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

•Two years of direct experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and IDS/IPS systems

•Two years of direct experience with Cisco switches

•Experience with the design and implementation of security policies and procedures

•Strong technical and documentation skills

•Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

•Strong problem solving and analysis skills

•Ability to work independently, with little supervision and in a collaborative manner

•Other duties as assigned

 

Examples of Work

•Deploy, manage and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, IPS and VPN systems

•Provide on-call security support to end users

•Develop, implement, maintain and oversee enforcement of security policies, procedures, and associated plans for system security administration and user system access

•Monitor server logs, firewall logs, IPS logs and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity

•Conduct active penetration tests to discover vulnerabilities in information systems

•Stay current with emerging security alerts and issues

•Maintain documentation and prepare reports

•Create, manage, and maintain end user security awareness

 

Working Relationships

The AOC IT Security Administrator has regular contact with elected court officials and court staff, department staff, and other state agency/institutions personnel.  Must maintain a high degree of integrity, decorum, and respect for court personnel at all times and possess the ability to communicate with court personnel at all levels.  This position works closely with other AOC technical and non-technical staff, and reports to the Hardware Manager of the CIS Division.
