SMX is seeking a Security Assistant who will perform duties for processing security clearances, visit requests, foreign travel requests, new-hire onboarding, separation of personnel, presenting briefings, and other tasking that may be required. This position requires on site attendance Monday through Friday in a designated SMX facility in Herndon, VA and is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
• Review and update Security & Facility Risk Registers with Managers, Security Specialists, and FSOs.
• Maintain access control databases and work with external facility management for personnel access to facilities.
• Collaborate with contracts and subcontracts departments to review and update current and expired contract information in Security Information Management System (SIMS).
• Perform security training course certificate approvals in SMXcel and track in Security Information Management System (SIMS).
• SMXact ticket fulfillment for visit requests, clearance action requests, foreign travel requests, Non-Employee Access Requests, and other Security requests as needed.
• Post office (USPS) & UPS/Fed Ex shipping duties as needed.
• Auditing of visitor logs, bag check logs, perimeter and security checklists as required at assigned sites.
• Accurately perform data entry.
• Complete security tasking related to new hire onboarding and offboarding of all SMX employees.
• Track Foreign Nationals and Non-Employees within SMX.
• Perform security briefs and debriefs as required.
• Review and submission of packages for clearances, special accesses and associated tasking utilizing DISS/NBIS/e-APP/SWFT/NISS/NCAIS/FieldPrint.
• Assist with maintaining and updating security plans (SPPs and SOPs), procedures, and instructions in line with Quality compliance.
• Independently and accurately perform monthly reporting both internal to Security and for external departments as scheduled.
• Support with audits within the Security department and other SMX departments.
Requirements:
• Clearance Required: Current Active DoD Secret Clearance
• 2-3 years' experience
• Knowledge of DISS, e-APP, NBIS and SWFT
• Knowledge of the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Ability to multi-task while still meeting deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite to include TEAMS.
• Effective and concise oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
• Completion of CDSE FSO Curriculum Completed through DCSA for Possessing Facilities
• Experience with CCURE 9000 and Datawatch access control
• SIMS configuration management
• Service Now experience
US citizenship required for work under DOD contract
