Security Consultant β New Business
Location: Remote with travel to Basingstoke or Bracknell

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is proficient in cyber security. You will have experience of working within the Ministry of Defence or within a Government environment and have current working knowledge of current industry standards and industry best practice. An understanding of the Government Classification Scheme which is essential for this role. Can you confidently own all aspects of security to work collaboratively with our new business team. Your role will involve:
Working with the customer and team to provide technical guidance. Creating secure solutions to meet the customers needs. Working with the rest of the team to determine the necessary security controls, working with architects (network, infrastructure) to ensure the solution incorporated the appropriate controls for the security tier and threats identified. Work with suppliers to determine the appropriate products and obtain quotes (determined from the appropriate volumes).
Your transferable skills and experience:
Owning the security aspects and approach to the bid. Understands both HMG and MOD moves from accreditation to assurance via a SbD approach. Experience in undertaking risk assessments using HMG Information Assurance Standard 1&2, ISO27005 and /or NIST 800-30 and the application of security controls, utilising frameworks such as ISO 27k, NIST 800-53, CIS. Able to collaboratively work with technical architects (infra, networks, service etc) to develop the security architecture of a proposed solution. Advising and selecting relevant controls (Physical, Procedural, Personnel and technical). Experience and understanding of through life security including patch and vulnerability management, authorisation and authentication, protective monitoring, incident management, malware and boundary protection etc. Work with suppliers (such as tenable, Splunk) to determine the appropriate products and obtain quotes (determined from the appropriate volumes). Collaboratively work with programme management to determine transition plans, identify security related risks, assumptions and dependencies. Experience and understanding of JSP 604 Network Joining process. Experience responding to security questions and develop compelling responses . Own security resource estimates for the bid submission Lead security negotiation/engagement sessions with the client)Please note: Itβs still worth applying even if you do not meet all the requirements above.
