Security Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Security Coordinator to support our NSWC customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as possess the following education and experience:

Duties:

Meet training and qualifications standards as developed by the SETA PM prior to designation. Maintain a working knowledge of the NSWC Crane Security Program and its application per this manual. Serve as the communication link between the command’s security division and personnel within their department or division (where an AASM has not been designated). Report security violations to the ASM and assist in correcting security infractions and violations, electronic data spill fact finding and remediation, and inquiries or investigations. Ensure department and division personnel are aware of the requirement to conform to the guidance of security policy, procedures, and program manual, for accounting, controlling, marking, safeguarding, storage, transmission, and destruction requirements for classified material. Assist in identification and reporting of potential security risks or problems affecting the command’s security program to the ASM. Assist with the upkeep and changing of combinations to open storage areas, vaults, and security containers. Apply knowledge of policies, procedures, and requirements established under appropriate authorities to protect information that, if subjected to unauthorized disclosure, could reasonably be expected to cause damage to national security; provide guidance and oversight for safeguarding, transmitting, and disclosing of classified and controlled unclassified information. Apply the requirements for classifying, marking, redacting, handling, transporting and safeguarding of protected and/or classified information and implement original and derivative classification standards; provide guidance and oversight for declassification, regrading, and marking classified and controlled unclassified information. Conduct reviews to determine compliance with and adherence to security related requirements, conduct security assessments, document findings and recommendations, and provide results to management for action as appropriate. Coordinate the procurement, receipt, issue, rotation, and 100% accountability of keys, locks, access tokens and locking devices assigned to the division. Review, monitor, and maintain standard operating procedures for applicable security procedures for the Electro Optic Technology Division, with approval authority remaining with government managers. Participate in Electro Optic Technology Division staff meetings as the subject matter expert for all security related issues, as required. Coordinate with the COMSEC office for access roster changes, gather from personnel all COMSEC standard forms required to gain access to COMSEC controlled spaces. Assist with secure room access rosters and primary/secondary custodian designation letters by reviewing documentation for accuracy for all JXQ controlled spaces. Coordinate with the Personnel Security (PERSEC) office to verify personnel access eligibility prior to classified meetings, secure video teleconferences, and the like. Assist the custodians with security container and secure room combination changes. Assist personnel with classified mailing requirements, required wrapping, marking, and drop-off. Assist with developing the Command’s critical information and indicators list. Assist with the identification of vulnerabilities, and the development and assessment of countermeasures. Promote workforce education within the EOTD. Assist with the development of the Command’s OPSEC instruction and plan. Assist with the planning and conducting of the annual OPSEC self-assessments and surveys. Forward, from the OPSEC Program Manager (PM), OPSEC advisories and educational material, throughout EOTD. Perform Random Anti-Terrorism Measures (RAM) inspections per NSWC Crane OPSEC PM schedule.

Required Education:

BS or BA degree is desired; ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An AA or AA degree and additional four (4) years of experience; OR an additional (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree 

Required Experience:

Applicants must have (4) years of experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of security , regulations, and procedures. Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties. Must demonstrate knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and the process for granting personnel security clearances/accesses, and knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel related to the protection of SCI. Specialist should have knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting and analyzing information, etc., and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (with potential for TS.) Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
