Operations and Training

Driving the implementation of global physical security standards, awareness, education, and security officer training. Training responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop computerized, on the job training, in a dedicated portal with an ability to review training records electronically as well as create proactive training plans based upon ongoing information and analyses. Prepare training compliance reports, identify areas for improvement and manage annual re-certification training are up to date. Delivers a variety of courses that may include new employee orientation, on-the-job training (e.g., orientation to the post, review of post orders, routine responsibilities, and how to respond to emergency situations or specific client needs), health and safety practices, customer service techniques and supervisory development. Identifies any personnel problems occurring at posts, such as payroll issues, employee relations complaints or other concerns, and forward any such issues to Account Manager as appropriate. May be responsible for writing a report of the situation or assisting with an investigation, as directed by Account Manager, Branch Manager or Corporate HR Director. Responsible for making recommendations for counseling and/or disciplinary action, including termination. May be responsible for administering counseling or disciplinary actions (may not make or initiate such decisions on his/her own but may execute such actions at the specific direction of Account Manager with prior approval from Branch/Corporate HR management). Responds to client or site emergencies as they arise, including ensuring appropriate communication to Account Manager, Branch and/or Regional Manager. Responsible for maintaining positive client/security relationships through frequent tenant/client contact and support

 

Security Technology Administration

Assist client on security technology programs and projects, which includes but is not limited to Visitor Management, Video Management, Access Control, the Incident Management System, and Site Security Coordinator initiative.

 

Documentation and Process Improvement 

Partnering with the Securitas Account Manager and Global Security leadership to align policies and initiatives which remain consistent with BioMarin’s governance and policy frameworks and regulations governing the security services industry.  Reviewing security processes regularly in partnership with Global Security leadership to ensure optimal efficiency and embrace continuous quality improvement.   Responsible for creating and managing Post Orders, Standard Operating Procedures, and all other post and training information. Assist Global Security functional leads with managing internal BioWeb site to include web design and promoting program awareness.

 

Emergency Response 

Serve as a member of our Emergency Response team, the onsite medical and hazardous emergency response group, assisting injured employees, updating emergency response reports, capturing after-action reviews, and presenting data to drive improvements. Serve as First Aid and CPR/AED trainer for client site in partnership with BioMarin EHS and Global Security.

 

Education/Experience:

Associate’s Degree and 1 year of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

 

Required:

Ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Demonstration of strong customer service orientation required, with ability to effectively resolve client issues in a professionaland service-focused manner and to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unpleasant required Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting is required Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion Ability to train and coach others, and to effectively enforce post orders, security standards and company policies equitably and consistently Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player required Incumbent must be available to work outside normal shift schedule on an as needed basis, and must be accessible by phone 24/7 for emergency response.

 

Competencies (as demonstratedthrough experience, training, and/or testing): Successful completion of Train-the-Trainer (or equivalent) requirements. ACT program certification (or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to perform at a high level without being subjected to disciplinary actions on a sustained basis for at least 6 months. Skill in the use of audio-visual equipment and personal computers, including presentation software. Oral and written communications skills; presentation and group facilitation skills. Skill in the delivery of training programs in multiple settings. Ability to understand the security service needs of customers and devise appropriate training strategies. Skill in observation, coaching and providing feedback to associates. Knowledge of security operations and procedures. Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Skill in staff supervision, including assigning work and providing training and discipline. Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls. Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments. Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances. Knowledge of business operations management and human resources administration. Use of personal computer and spreadsheet software. Ability to synthesize business/financial data and develop recommendations. Planning, organizing and leadership skills. May be required to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers and/or authorization for training Security Officers. May require valid driver’s license. Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently. Ability to be an effective team member andhandle project assignments responsibly. Strong customer service and results orientation.   WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

Maintaining composure in  dealing  with  authorities,  executives,  clients, staff  and  the  public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements. May be required to work overtime without advance notice. Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Keyboarding and computer usage. Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly in order to provide training and make presentations, communicate with employees and clients, observe and report incidents, and direct others. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds. Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. May be required to use vehicle for the performance of duties. On occasion may be required to perform stressful and physical activity. Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others. Exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information. Conducting oral presentations and group meetings. Directing, motivating, training, coaching, and disciplining staff in a positive manner. Reading and analyzing reports and financial data, including related computer usage. May be required to physically demonstrate various procedures. May be required to travel occasionally or frequently to training sites.
