ClearScale's Managed Services Team (MSP) is growing rapidly and looking for an experienced Senior Security Engineer. The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls to protect customer AWS environments. This role requires deep expertise in AWS security best practices and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential security threats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud security, experience with automated security solutions, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive AWS security assessments for both company and client infrastructures. Perform penetration tests and vulnerability assessments of cloud infrastructure and web applications. Implement and manage AWS security tools and technologies such as AWS IAM, GuardDuty, Inspector, Security Hub, Config, etc. Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Organize access management in accordance with Role-based access control (RBAC) policy. Participate in compliance audit projects of the AWS infrastructure (SOC2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO27001, etc.). Support and configure SIEM for real-time analysis and monitoring of security events. Stay current with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the organization's defenses are up-to-date.Qualifications:
Must-have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on cloud security and AWS. In-depth knowledge of AWS services, architecture, and best practices for securing cloud environments. Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management, and data protection techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.Nice-to-have:
Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR. Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, CISM, or similar are considered a plus. Experience in designing, implementing, or managing a Security Operations Center (SOC) tailored for AWS infrastructure, including familiarity with AWS-native security tools (e.g., GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, and AWS WAF) and best practices for incident response, monitoring, and threat detection in the cloud.We offer
