Security Engineering Manager

The Cloud Security Engineer Manager will lead a team of 8 to 10 engineers, focusing on the security of our corporate, production, and venture companies' security programs. This role requires a robust background in security best practices and extensive experience with both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The manager will be responsible for identifying and communicating security risks in the Data Center Network to upper management and leading the mitigation efforts.

The manager will work extensively with a variety of advanced cloud security technologies and features, including but not limited to, cloud security posture management, cloud workload protection, data security management, and container security. A background in SecDevOps is also important for this role. The Cloud Security Engineer Manager will not only manage and mentor their team but will also work closely with other departments to ensure the security of the Alarm.com Platform.

Responsibilities:

The Cloud Security Engineer Manager primary job responsibilities include:

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security controls for cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including but not limited to IAM, VPC, Security Groups, WAF, IDS/IPS, and SIEM. Oversee the utilization and management of advanced cloud security tools, focusing on features like Cloud Security Posture Management, Cloud Workload Protection, Data Security Management, and Container Security. Develop and manage a comprehensive Threat Intelligence program, focusing on vulnerability management, network, mobile, and application security. Oversee and maintain security for on-premises data centers, including managing all aspects of data center security such as network segmentation, intrusion detection systems, firewall configurations, DDoS mitigation strategies, and advanced network traffic analysis for threat detection and compliance. Manage incident response, including leading forensic investigations and coordinating responses to security incidents. Oversee corporate security measures, including email security, endpoint security, and integration with IT service management platforms. Actively partner with infrastructure, application, and other stakeholders to ensure deployed solutions minimize security and privacy risks. Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards. Regularly present reports on current security standards, future plans, and strategies to senior management. REQUIREMENTS

B.A. or B.S. (or higher level degree) in Computer Science or a similar engineering program with strong academic performance preferred Proven experience in managing a diverse team of security engineers, with a focus on guiding strategic security initiatives, risk management, and policy development. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in information security, with a strong emphasis on cloud security. Extensive hands-on experience and deep expertise with AWS and Azure security features and services, as well as Cisco security solutions. Relevant information security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CEH, or OSCP. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security roadmaps, manage security projects, and effectively communicate security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
