We welcome all applicants!** **Responsibilities** + Operate computer terminals, Simplex Fire Systems, Cardkey Computer, License Plate Recognition program, Emergency Intercoms, Elevator Intercoms, and control switches. + Work effectively under pressure with multiple tasks happening simultaneously, maintaining detail and accuracy in work products. + Express ideas courteously and effectively, both orally and in writing. + Read, understand, and interpret rules and regulations, including safety regulations. + Formulate appropriate plans of action, factoring in public relations as a major concern. + Follow and abide by all issued and/or published rules and regulations governing employee conduct. + Work independently, taking initiative to correct problems or find solutions. + Deal courteously and tactfully with the public and fellow employees. + React calmly and quickly in emergency situations. + Display and maintain high standards of ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity. + Work and communicate with internal and external clients and customers in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner. + Monitor and operate fixed base communications equipment as part of a security network. + Receive and transmit messages between fixed base locations and mobile units. + Initiate and coordinate movement of security personnel in response to both routine and emergency situations. + Maintain current and accurate listings of field unit locations. + Monitor electronic alarms, emergency management systems, and other warning systems. + Provide information and assistance to the public on various subjects. + Monitor video surveillance camera systems and initiate recording of activities as necessary. + Maintain typed logs showing field unit activities. + Prepare reports, testimony, statements, and other materials. + Perform other clerical duties including filing and data coding. + Receive, inventory, secure, and release lost and found property. + Lift files weighing approximately 20 lbs occasionally. + Move quickly around the dispatch center when dealing with emergencies. + Sit for long periods while maintaining alertness and attention. + Talk on two-way radio in a calm, clear voice. + Calm emotionally charged situations and assist visitors with directions and goodwill. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in English language. + Ability to maintain composure and make appropriate decisions in various situations. + Ability to determine priorities among simultaneous requests and messages. + Ability to transcribe radio and telephone messages quickly and accurately. + Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision. + Ability to meet and deal with the public in a tactful, professional manner. + Ability to accurately remember details. + Ability to learn new procedures and adapt existing ones. + Ability to follow oral and written instructions. + Ability to type at a reasonable speed with accuracy. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. + Considerable knowledge of departmental rules and procedures. + Considerable knowledge of codes and abbreviations for radio communications. + Working knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations in loss prevention and property management. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Pre‐assignment security training. + Safety orientation, MSDS program, and emergency evacuation training. + PSTN tape series and bloodborne pathogen training. + CPR / First Aid & AED certification. + Fire Extinguisher and response training. + Computer training – Microsoft Office, Perspective, digital photograph merging, and report printing. + Verbal Judo tape series. + Control Room / Dispatcher training and 911 procedures. + Optional Training – flagging for special events. **Why Work Here?** Direct Placement | Employer paid medical insurance | Paid Vacation & Sick time | Paid Holidays | Annual Bonus | Flex-fund Account contributions (depending on selected Insurance Plan) | $150 Shoe Stipend | 401K | Free Parking **Work Environment** Inside and outdoors.
