Responsibilities PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)


Responds to all emergency calls, and provides security escorts.
Aides individuals needing assistance.
Completes all reports and daily activity log.
Dispatches other security personnel, as needed.
Monitors CCTV and alarm systems.
Provides internal and external patrols of the facility, by checking all areas of the hospitals and campuses.
Remains at post through scheduled shifts.
Locks and unlocks specified areas daily.
Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the employee's state of residence, and have and maintain an acceptable driving record.Knowledgeable in the laws of the State of Indiana.Knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital and the security department. Requires crisis intervention training to handle hostile behaviors and patient restraint training. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate over a radio and telephone. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to make quick decisions and handle situations with good judgment and common sense. Ability to recognize safety hazards and take corrective action, when necessary. Ability to remain calm in the presence danger, consistent with controlling violent and hostile behaviors.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required Prior law enforcement or security experience is preferred. 1 Customer Care/Support Required Security Preferred Public Admin./Gov't/Defense - Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officer Preferred
