Overview You will provide general security through observation and reporting for all community property in an effort to promote a safe and secure environment while maintaining a progressive customer service culture. Demonstrate that Pacific Retirement Services’ (PRS) Core Values—excellence, innovation, integrity, stewardship, compassion, and collaboration—are ingrained into all aspects of your role. Approach all encounters with residents, guests, and co-workers in a gracious, attentive, and courteous manner. Provide limited traffic control on community streets and in parking lot. Perform “gatekeeper” duties for campus property by screening and directing all team members, residents, vendors and contractors, guests, visitors and general public as needed. Conduct periodic patrolling (on foot or in vehicle) throughout all common and public areas, both inside and out and check security functions during rounds. Monitor surveillance equipment, fire alarm and emergency call systems. Respond to all alarms throughout community property and escalate issues as necessary. Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and act in a calm manner in the event of an emergency. Check security of vehicles during off hours. Maintain accurate logs, records and reports. Assist staff during a resident or employee emergency. Provide escorts for staff during non-regular business hours. Perform other duties as assigned. About You: Minimum of 1 year’s experience in building and grounds security or a related field. Knowledge of alarm and communication systems. Ability to communicate with government agencies such as Police and Fire department. Ability to fill out forms accurately. Formal training or experience in self-defense methods. CPR/AED and First Aid certification upon hire or within 90 days of hire. Valid driver’s license and meet Pacific Retirement Services' (PRS’s) Employment Driver Guidelines. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, security software, video surveillance, and other relevant business applications.
