Location: Toronto, ON (Downtown, Bay & College)
Structure: Full-Time, On-Site
Work Hours: 11.25 hour rotating shifts
Pay Rate: Unionized with SEIU, $26.95-$28.75

The Security Guard is located in Toronto, ON and typically reports directly to the Security Guard Supervisor.

The Security Guard is responsible for providing a friendly and safe environment for all patients, staff, volunteers, and visitors and typically reports directly to the Security Manager. Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring safety and security of the facility and all those who enter the facilityProvide a friendly and safe environment for all staff, volunteers, patients, and visitorsRespond as required to all security, safety, and/or emergency situationsOperate the Security Office’s CCTV, access control, and panic device systems in the absence of the Security
ManagerRespond to all access requests in accordance with established protocolsConduct facility patrols and take necessary action based on observation including checking in with employees
who work alone after hoursPerform "Patient Watches"Monitor parking areasInvestigate security and safety related events as requiredComplete forms, logs, notebooks, work orders, and incident reports as requiredAct as a member of the internal fire response team and crisis teamAdhere to all corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and directivesIdentify areas requiring updates and/or possible areas of improvement relating to policies, procedures, and
directivesCompletion of other tasks as directed by the Supervisor

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Two-year community college Law & Security or Police Foundations diploma is preferredValid Ontario Private Security & Investigative Services, Security Guard License is required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

At least 6 months of security experience3+ years of related experience in a health care environment is considered a strong asset

Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our client’s mandates, the successful candidate will be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire Must be able to work 11.25-hour shifts on a rotating scheduleExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent problem solving skills and ability to proactively achieve resolutions both through direction and
