SUMMARYThe Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the facility and approving access to visitors, guests and employees who need to enter the building.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMain Gate GuardsResponsible for approving access to visitors, guests and employees who need to enter through main gate.Responsible for signing in deliveries, then notifying the patrol guard before allowing access into the Shipping/Receiving areaResponsible for monitoring access to east parking lot and on base parking area.Responsible for requesting a proper picture ID when a visitor comes to the main gate.Responsible for issuing leasehold badges from the main gate.Responsible for monitoring the badge reader inside the gatehouse for employees to gain access into the facility.Responsible for checking toolbox when a new employee brings in their toolsPatrol Post GuardsResponsible for all parking areas outside the facilityResponsible for making sure all vehicles are parked in a designated area and not alongside the fence areaResponsible for the Shipping/Receiving areas at all times when gate is opening or closingResponsible for being present at the turnstiles during shift change, during all breaks and at any time employees are exiting/entering the facilityResponsible for patrolling the 2nd floor after hours checking that all doors are locked.Responsible for patrolling the eastAOA GuardsResponsible for controlling access and traffic in the hangarResponsible for patrolling the east/west side of the building riding golf cart.Responsible for challenging any persons or vehicles entering hangar area and must ask to see ID.Responsible for logging in all deliveries and visitors who enter/exit hangar area.Responsible for ensuring that all employees or visitors have an MIA badge or leasehold before crossing over the red line located on the ground in front of each hangar door.Applies to All Guards:Records her/his work time worked as directed by her/his supervisor.Complies with all AAR Aircaft Services - Miami, Inc. policies and procedures which apply to her/him. Complies with all safety procedures which apply to him/her. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in standard English. Able to comprehend and follow instructions Able to interface in a professional and pleasant manner with other AAR Aircaft Services - Miami, Inc., employees at all levels and with customers as required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have a minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training. - One year as a Security Guard preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
