Ideal candidates will be dependable, respectful, productive, and excellent team players. **Responsibilities** + Operate radio, telephones, computerized, and electronic communications equipment. + Work under the direct supervision of a Communications Sergeant. + Perform security/communication duties on a 24/7 basis with rotating shifts. + Maintain proficiency in all security-related tasks and foster teamwork. + Complete required training programs including CPR, First Aid, AED, fire extinguisher, and emergency response training. + Perform clerical work, including filing and data coding. + Monitor and operate fixed base communications equipment. + Receive and transmit messages between fixed base locations and mobile units. + Coordinate movement of security personnel in response to situations. + Monitor electronic alarms, emergency management systems, and other warning systems. + Provide information and assistance to the public. + Monitor video surveillance systems and record activities as necessary. + Maintain logs and prepare various reports. + Handle lost and found property. + Deal courteously and tactfully with the public and fellow employees. + Work varied shift assignments, including weekends and holidays. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in English language. + Ability to maintain composure and make appropriate decisions in various situations. + Ability to determine priorities among simultaneous requests. + Ability to transcribe radio and telephone messages quickly and accurately. + Ability to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, professional manner. + Ability to remember details accurately. + Ability to learn new procedures and adapt existing ones. + Ability to follow oral and written instructions. + Ability to type at a reasonable speed with accuracy. + Knowledge of departmental rules and procedures. + Knowledge of codes and abbreviations for radio communications. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Completion of pre-assignment security tapes. + Completion of safety orientation, MSDS program, and emergency evacuation training. + Completion of PSTN tape series. + Computer training in Microsoft Office, Perspective, and digital photography. + Completion of Verbal Judo tape series. + Training in control room/dispatcher and 911 procedures. + Optional training in flagging for special events. **Why Work Here?** We offer direct placement with employer-paid medical insurance, paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, annual bonus, flex-fund account contributions, a $150 shoe stipend, 401K, and free parking. **Work Environment** The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings.
