DescriptionBe the Consummate Host by assisting the Security Supervisor in monitoring passenger and crew activities, investigating security matters that arise, and promptly reporting and correcting security issues in order to maintain a safe and secure shipboard environment in line with the Company’s Core Values.

Key Responsibilities Efficiently and effectively executes passenger/crew and visitor control at the gangway during port operations. Efficiently and effectively conducts searches of passengers/crew, visitors and all carry-on items for unauthorized/prohibited items, either physically or by utilization of supplied security equipment. Efficiently and effectively executes supply and service point access control. Efficiently and effectively screens baggage of disembarking/embarking crew. Always maintains control and willingly assists the Ship Security Officer with the issuance and accountability of visitor passes and visitors to the ship. Efficiently and effectively performs security patrols (fire/safety patrols on completion of applicable courses/instructions) in accordance with ship’s standard operating procedures. Maintains perimeter security for the ship by continually monitoring the CCTV Surveillance Centre. Promptly and willingly conducts patrols as directed by management. As directed by management, promptly and effectively executes ship’s drug smuggling, bomb threat, and stowaway search routines. Promptly and accurately sets up, calibrates, and operates all security-related equipment. Promptly and accurately conducts daily maintenance checks on all security-related equipment in accordance with manufacturer requirements and company protocols, reporting any and all defects to the Security Supervisor. Accurately reports on a daily basis to the Security Supervisor that all security equipment is fully operational, or any abnormalities discovered, prior to commencement of operations.


Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseSafety and Compliance Remains in compliance with USPH, safety, fleet, and environmental regulations and other applicable internal, external, and governmental regulations at all times. Willingly supports the security supervisor with the coordination of onboard resources and responses in case of increased sanitation levels driven by any outbreak situations. Regularly and willingly attends scheduled safety and compliance-related meetings and training needs. Complies with all RSA policies and procedures and immediately reports any non-compliance issues to management. Always adheres to all applicable Deck Policies & Procedures. Willingly supports the security supervisor in ensuring timekeeping and ILO records are always accurate. Willingly attends ISPS/CSM (Crime Scene Management) training conducted by the SSO and the Fleet Security Training Officer (FSTO), in accordance with ISPS/Carnival Corporation Security Standards. Willingly attends and completes any other training deemed necessary by management.
