About The Position

The Security Investigator is responsible for providing investigative support, coordinating, and monitoring incidents committed against the company as well as monitoring various intelligence sources, conducting analysis and reporting to leadership those that could impact Ameren.

Key responsibilities include:

Act as a liaison between law enforcement agencies and the company to ensure optimum support and collaboration in sensitive and/or emergency situations.Monitor myriad sources both open source and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.Prepare analytic reports of information/intelligence which could impact Ameren.Serve as the Point of Contact with various agencies regarding Intelligence sharing.Provide security inspections at company facilities.  Implement and/or monitor the appropriate technology, processes and controls.Stay current on best practices regarding prevention strategies for a secure work environment.Investigate security-related incidents that threaten or harm personnel or property.  Collaborate with Human Resources, line leadership and/or law enforcement to ensure a well-coordinated and well executed investigation and resolution of the issue.  Develop detailed documentation of the investigation as necessary.Conduct quality/compliance reviews of contract security work-force and prepare monthly reports of findings.Make presentations to leaders and/or employees regarding security practices and procedures or violence prevention strategies as needed/requested.Prepare detailed reports concerning investigations involving Human Resources and Industrial Relations.Act as liaison between law enforcement and groups within the company to achieve optimum cooperation.Provide security inspections at company facilities. Remain proficient in prevention strategies for a secure work environment and protection of personnel and property.Conduct quality/compliance reviews of our contract security force.  Prepare monthly reports on reviews.Provide protection to Ameren employees as needed.Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent law enforcement or military police experience required.  Five or more years of law enforcement, or private security, or military police experience required. Seven or more years of related law enforcement, private security, or military police experience required without the degree. Intelligence gathering and analysis experience including working with multi-jurisdictional intelligence centers at the federal, state, and local levels preferred. Top Secret or Secret Clearance Classification hosted by either the FBI or DHS preferred. Strong crime prevention and administrative background and established contacts with personnel from law enforcement agencies preferred.  This position may require occasional travel.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Good computer, decision-making, problem-solving, oral and written communication, and human relations skills, as well as public speaking required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word required.

Additional Information

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment.  Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$73,000.00 - $113,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
